Princess Beatrice forewent a public royal wedding in favor of a private ceremony in Windsor. For the exclusive occasion, the bride surprised us all by borrowing a special gown from her grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II.

Per a Buckingham Palace press release, Beatrice's stunning outfit is a vintage dress from the queen's own closet. Designed by Norman Hartnell, the exquisite ivory dress is made from Peau De Soie taffeta, and is trimmed with ivory Duchess satin. Featuring organza sleeves, diamanté adornments, and a checkered, geometric bodice, the dress looks nothing short of stunning.

Angela Kelly and Stewart Parvin, both of whom regularly work with the queen, remodelled the dress and carried out a fitting to ensure that it looked perfect on the bride.

The queen famously wore the gown to the premiere of Lawrence of Arabia at the Odeon in Leicester Square, London, in 1962.

Buckingham Palace announced in a statement, "The wedding took place in accordance with all relevant government guidelines," amid the coronavirus pandemic. Close royal family member were in attendance, including the queen, Prince Philip, and Beatrice's parents, Prince Andrew and Sarah, Duchess of York.

It's been reported that the queen left the wedding ceremony early to bestow a knighthood on Captain Tom Moore at Windsor Castle. 100-year-old Moore was honored with the investiture ceremony after raising millions of dollars for coronavirus relief for the National Health Service in the United Kingdom.
