Drunken driver: Interstate 77
Police responded to a call of a woman seen passed out behind the wheel of her SUV at 1:30 a.m. July 26. Police woke the woman and turned off the truck.
The woman was reportedly wearing a “bikini thong with a hula style elastic mini skirt,” reports said, and was given a blanket and later a jail uniform “for her comfort” when she was taken to the Independence police station.
She was cited for operating a motor vehicle while impaired after registering nearly three times the legal limit for intoxication in a breath test.
Theft: Rockside Road
A man called police at 1:39 p.m. July 25 after returning to a construction site and finding his tool box broken into.
The 250-pound box was chained to a larger box and utility cart and secured by a lock. The lock had been cut and tools -- including concrete saws, jackhammers, generators and a pressure washer -- were stolen.

A driver was pulled over at 12:34 a.m. July 25 for nearly driving off the side of the road while traveling on Interstate 77 southbound between Cuyahoga Heights and Independence.
The driver admitted to drinking “a couple beers” and registered more than twice the legal limit for intoxication on a breath test. The driver was cited for operating a motor vehicle while impaired and driving outside marked lanes.
