Because our lives are so dependent upon being able to exist outdoors right now, anxiety over dropping temperatures is at an all-time high. This week in New York City, I saw men and women already walking around in their parkas as though it were the dead of winter. It’s very much still fall, though. In fact, September 22 marks the first “official” day of the season. Let me say that again: the first! Not the middle, nor the last. There are still plenty of days left to walk around with bare legs, which brings me to this beautiful, buttery Prada leather skirt (pictured above). The color alone is the perfect shade of light fall sun — warm, but not beaming. And the material, of course, will actually keep you warm. When it really does start to get cold outside, you can style it the same way Ms. Prada did for her fall show: with a puffer blazer, belted at the waist, plus giant, knee-high plastic boots.
Prada leather skirt, $1,980. Available at select Prada boutiques or at prada.com.
