Haven of the Dan River Region hosted their second annual Heels to Heal challenge on Saturday at Two Witches Winery and Brewery in Danville.

Men from the community walked down the "purple carpet" in heels to raise awareness for domestic violence.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and Heels to Heel is just one of around 15 events that Haven will be taking part in.

Participants worked to raise money for the cause before the event, and the organization met their goal of $15,000 raised by the close of the event Saturday.

Alan Larson, CEO of Sovah Health, was crowned as "king" of Saturday's challenge.
