Dr. Jill Biden's style as the future first lady is blooming already.
During Joe Biden's victory speech on Saturday, November 7, the President-elect praised his wife in what can only be described as a love letter. “As I said many times before, I’m Jill’s husband,” he said. “Jill’s a mom—a military mom—and an educator. She has dedicated her life to education, but teaching isn’t just what she does—it’s who she is.”
He continued, “For America’s educators, this is a great day: You’re going to have one of your own in the White House, and Jill is going to make a great first lady.”
Joe's loving comments were just one of the highlights from the night. Others included Vice President-elect Kamala Harris' history-making speech in a suffragette white pantsuit and Jill's stunning Oscar de la Renta floral dress. She wore a black asymmetrical piece with embroidered flowers. The future first lady even matched the dress with a matching black mask and rose-colored heels. The best part? It's currently available on The Outnet.
Oscar de la Renta is known for his relationship with American First Ladies—some even describing their connection as a "White House love affair." Over the course of his career, he has dressed many presidents' wives, including Jackie Kennedy, Michelle Obama, and Laura Bush. In fact, de la Renta was the designer of choice for First Ladies Nancy Reagan and Hillary Clinton, according to Vanity Fair.
Florals seem to have become Jill’s signature go-to. At the final presidential debate in Nashville, Tenn., she wore a knee-length light blue Dolce & Gabbana dress covered in flowers, completing her look with neutral-toned pumps from Jimmy Choo and a matching floral mask.
Many praised Jill's style via Twitter. “Dr. Biden, I just thought you should know my 4-year-old daughter gasped when she saw your awesome outfit last night! She absolutely loved how your mask matched your dress," one proud mother wrote at the time. "I can’t wait to have a First Lady my daughter can look up to again.”
Dr. Jill Biden has multiple degrees, including a Ph.D., and is a working teacher who has intends to keep her job while serving as First Lady. It looks like she'll be serving looks while she does it, too.
