TikTok is largely dominated by trending songs, dance challenges, and overall embracing creativity, but it’s not as well known for its fashion scene. That being said, a stylish community is forming on the app—and Vogue is here to find the most inspiring, and most stylish, creators.
This week’s must-follow account is Parker Kit Hill (@parkerkithill), a 24-year-old artist, model, dancer, and social media star based in Brooklyn, New York. Hill’s videos, which are refreshingly irreverent, will make you laugh, but they’ll also make you track down the clothes he’s wearing and press “add to cart.” He’ll do a dramatic runway walk on the sidewalks of New York carting around a huge Dior tote bag, or he’ll even casually take to the streets in a Thom Browne runway look complete with a pleated skirt, football helmet, and spherical platforms—you know, just a regular Tuesday fit!
Hill is no stranger to being an Internet celebrity, of course. Hill first rose to fame on Vine—rest in peace—as one of the app’s funniest creators. (Remember the infamous bobbed wig dance video? That’s him.) Now, he’s bringing that fun, unapologetic, and unpredictable energy to TikTok, where he’s gained over half a million followers since first posting in March. “I saw it as a new way to express myself on a not-so-new platform,” Hill tells Vogue of joining TikTok. “My content has evolved with me, as I’ve grown up over the past few years. I don’t want my content to be the same thing over and over again. I want you to see that I’ve grown since my last post.”
Since his Vine days, Hill has forayed into the world of high fashion, often sitting front-row at shows and even appearing in editorials for Vogue, which explains his new stylish look. (Did you spot his Coperni bag?) But don’t go calling him a fashion influencer just yet: Hill hopes to combine his love of clothes with a cheeky, not-so-serious vibe for his TikTok videos. In a way, he says he's staying true to his original smile-inducing content—just looking a lot more chic while doing it. “I want to be a breath of fresh air in the fashion community,” Hill says. “I feel like mixing in comedy makes things feel more real and less static.”
Below, Hill discusses his favorite wardrobe pieces, how he plans his TikToks, and what his favorite video of all time is.
