Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are expected to enjoy a second wedding ceremony in 2021, after scrapping their original plans to get married for a secret ceremony amid the covid-19 pandemic.

Princess Eugenie and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are expected to re-commemorate their wedding in a second ceremony in 2021, after tying the knot in a secret ceremony this year.

Royal expert, Meadhbh McGrath, made the admission on the HeirHeads podcast, saying it was widely understood that Beatrice and Edo would celebrate again in 2021 and Beatrice will wear her original wedding dress.

Meadhbh revealed, "We had heard that Beatrice and Edo would have a second ceremony where she could wear her original dress which she had planned for the wedding.

"I would really like to see the dress."

It comes after Princess Beatrice swapped the dress she had originally planned to wear for a vintage Norman Hartnell gown loaned by her grandmother, the Queen.

Something she said was an "honour".

But, now Beatrice may get the day she'd dreamed of after all, Meadhbh is keen to see what her original dress is like.

"I would like that for her and for a day that is less defined by her grandfather and grandmother," the expert said.

"That's just about her and her husband and her unique sense of style."

The couple were due to get married in May, but had their plans postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Instead, they opted for a unique, small and socially-distanced ceremony - attended by The Queen, Prince Philip and a small number of other guests.

A friend of Beatrice's told The Sun, "A massive wedding was out of the question because of coronavirus.

"They were obviously very keen for the Queen to come so the wedding had to happen before she goes up to Balmoral so this was a great opportunity.

"So many guests were disappointed not to make the big day but understood the reason for it.

"They needed to make the wedding Covid-secure and safe for the Queen so what better way than the All Saints Chapel with reception on site at the Royal Lodge.

"They are just like a normal family and had to make sacrifices like many others have up and down the country and looking forward to having a wonderful celebration when the time is right."
