Steve Kerr isn’t letting a pandemic mess up his humor. After the recent mandate released by the NBA to relax the rules on coaching attires for the upcoming season, the Golden State Warriors coach seemed to take the news lightly and splashed a few jokes regarding the new dress code.
According to the NBA, jackets are now completely optional but face masks will be required. Of course, Kerr responded with his usual deadpan wit (via the Golden State Warriors).
“First of all, I’m devastated at the news. I had my brand new line of suits that’s coming out actually this fall so my marketing team is going to be disappointed that we’re not going to be able to put those on display. It’s a shame. My brand’s gonna take a hit but I’m confident that through social media exploits I can get my name and face out there a little bit more and attract the attention that I’m seeking.”
Don’t change, Steve Kerr.

The new relaxed rules on coaching attires sent out by the NBA on Wednesday is inspired by the dress code inside the Orlando bubble last season. Coaches, however, won’t be able to go full “athleisure” as the league still disallows sweatpants and/or jogging pants.
That said, Kerr obviously has a lot more problems than his in-game fit coming into the NBA season as the Warriors try to bounce back from an abysmal 15-win campaign.
Steve Kerr, however, has been very positive about their chances, recently gushing about Stephen Curry’s leadership and integrating new additions like Kelly Oubre, Brad Wanamaker, and second overall pick James Wiseman.
