Frances Folsom and Grover Cleveland - 1886

Cleveland actually wed during his time in the White House—and was the first (and only, so far) sitting president to do so. Frances (Folsom prior to their union) donned an ivory satin gown that, according to the History Channel, was made of such stiff fabric that it could stand on its own. After the wedding, she had it altered to wear for portraits and to other formal events.
