Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made a virtual appearance on Monday, popping up briefly in a virtual event for Spotify—the audio company they've partnered with to create podcasts under the banner of Archewell Audio.
For the occasion, the Duchess of Sussex chose to wear a stylish, drop-waist dress from Oscar de la Renta, as spotted by the eagle-eyed fans at the blog What Meghan Wore. Though Meghan recently announced that she's pregnant with the couple's second child, she's never been one for purpose-made maternity clothes, instead opting for roomier silhouettes from designers' regular ready-to-wear lines.
In the video (above), the Duke and Duchess speak about their mission-driven podcasts, the first of which—titled, simply, "Archewell Audio"—debuted its premiere episode in December. "We're using podcasting to drive powerful conversations," Meghan begins, adding, "We created Archewell Audio so we could elevate voices that maybe aren't being heard, and hear people's stories."
Harry notes, "And the biggest part of this is trying to create this community, of where you can share, will encourage everyone else to then share their own vulnerabilities within that safe space."
This is very much in keeping with how the couple spoke about their foray into podcasting when they first announced their partnership with Spotify back in December. “What we love about podcasting is that it reminds all of us to take a moment and to really listen, to connect to one another without distraction,” the Duke and Duchess said in a joint statement. “With the challenges of 2020, there has never been a more important time to do so, because when we hear each other, and hear each other’s stories, we are reminded of how interconnected we all are.”
