A 16-year-old boy from Scotland named Shane Richardson turned up to his school wearing his sister's skirt, obviously turning heads towards him. This was done to protest against a uniform policy in school.
Along with 13 boys, Richardson was asked to go home as he wore shorts to a school named Moffat Academy situated in Dumfries and Galloway. The reason why he opted for this was due to the extremely hot weather that the Scottish town was experiencing.
However, he was asked to go back home as only pants and skirts are allowed as the school uniform and not shorts. In order to protest against this rather archaic rule, he borrowed his younger sister's skirt and wore it to school.
Richardson told the exact reasoning behind the protest to the Daily Mail. He said, "There's no air conditioning switched on in the classroom just now because of Covid but it's really hot."
Not only the boys, but also some girls were reprimanded for the same as well.

The protesting students also got the support of their parents. Shane Richardson's mother named Hayley told the news organization, "It's been sweltering outside so for them not to be able to wear smart shorts to school is ridiculous."
A video call is said to be hosted in order for the parents to come together to discuss the same. The school administration is now paying heed to the grievances. They are deciding to review the already-existing policy and see if any changes can be made.
