For the first time in its 22-year history, the annual Rendezvous with Dress for Success Houston took place on the road, literally. On Saturday, October 17, over 150 guests from all over the city arrived at DFSH's headquarters on Eastside Street to participate in a drive-thru gala in support of the organization. The route, or black carpet if you will, had key stops with food and drink from A Fare Extraordinaire, Arnaldo Richards' Picos, and Hungry's Café, topped off with Nothing Bundt Cakes for dessert. The music of Kristine Mills Band was heard through windows—the live entertainment was much preferred over personal car stereos. Upon exit, guests had the opportunity to stop for photos at the photo wall adorned with a charming fall palette of balloons. As a take-home gift, attendees drove away with goodies from Total Wine & More, Verdine, Local Foods, and Pepperoni's.
For those that couldn't attend "in vehicle," event emcee Mia Gradney and DFSH President Lauren Levicki Courville hosted a virtual toast as a beautiful moment reminding everyone about the amazing work that DFSH does for Houston-area women. To date, the Rendezvous event has raised $430,000 to go towards DFSH, which empowers women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire, and development tools for their clients to thrive in work and in life.
A special thank you to all event sponsors and partners, including everyone that donated to this year's online Marketplace, which included a Park City getaway, a Hill Country wine experience, shopping with local designer Christy Lynn, United Airlines travel vouchers, and more.
