That being said, spring is all about re-emergence, which means the return of heels. Celebrities like Katie Holmes, Dua Lipa, and Cardi B have all slipped into them again on the streets—and now Ariana Grande is, too. In fact, her towering pair is even fresh off the runway.
Taking to Instagram to flex a glamorous Monday look for no occasion at all, the singer wore a glitzy gold Versace mini dress from the Italian label’s recent fall 2021 collection. On the second slide of her slideshow, Grande also showed a closer look at her shoes: staggering, chunky platform heels with a squared toe from the same show.
Now, a platform has a little more comfort than a single-sole heel—but Grande’s shoes are still quite extreme. But let’s not forget that Grande is a diehard heel lover, best known for her impressive collection of thigh-high boots. She’s clearly testing out a new look for spring here, and the square-toe shape happens to be a huge trend this season, so bonus! Does this mean you, too, have to start wearing skyscraper footwear? Of course not, but Grande is proving that a huge heel does bring your fit to epic new heights—it’s worth considering again.
